Always Wanted to Get Your Dog Ready for Agility, but Were Afraid to Ask How?
West Los Angeles Obedience Training Club Presents

 PREPARATION FOR AGILITY

Before your dog does his first jump, tunnel, weave or contact, what should he know to give him a head start?  Try this new class to learn the invaluable skills many experienced handlers teach their own dogs before they ever see agility equipment.  Skills will include learning and positive reinforcement of:

  •  Introduction to clicker training and targeting
  •  Short recalls; differentiating between “Here” and “Come”
  • “Drop” – holding a sphinx down for 20 seconds
  •  “Wait” command
  •  “Stay” command, particularly in front of a jump
  •  Working the dog on both the left and right sides of the handler
  •  “Go on” or “Out” to a target
  •  Side Commands
  •  Teaching your dog to turn “left” and “right”
  •  Handling your dog in agility class, when excitement is high (attention and manners)
