Always Wanted to Get Your Dog Ready for
Agility, but Were Afraid to Ask How?
West Los Angeles Obedience Training

PREPARATION FOR AGILITY
Before your dog does his first jump, tunnel,
weave or contact, what should he know to give him a head start? Try
this new class to learn the invaluable skills many experienced handlers
teach their own dogs before they ever see agility equipment. Skills
will include learning and positive reinforcement of:

Introduction to clicker training and
targeting
-
Short recalls; differentiating between
“Here” and “Come”
-
“Drop” – holding a sphinx down for 20 seconds
-
“Wait” command
-
“Stay” command, particularly in front
of a jump
-
Working the dog on both the left and
right sides of the handler
-
“Go on” or “Out” to a target
-
Side Commands
-
Teaching your dog to turn “left” and
“right”
-
Handling your dog in agility class,
when excitement is high (attention and manners)
Wednesdays 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
or
Mondays, 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
